Abstract

This study examines the role of urban green spaces in promoting biodiversity and providing essential ecosystem services in metropolitan areas. Using a combination of field surveys and remote sensing data, we analyzed various urban parks and natural reserves in five major cities across different continents. Our findings reveal that well-maintained green spaces can significantly enhance local biodiversity, offering habitats for various species, and contribute to climate regulation, air purification, and recreational opportunities for urban residents. These insights emphasize the importance of incorporating green infrastructure in urban planning to foster sustainable city environments.
