Abstract

Urban green spaces are critical in maintaining biodiversity within metropolitan regions, providing habitats for various species and contributing to ecological balance. This study examines the role of green spaces in supporting urban biodiversity, exploring how different types of vegetation and landscape designs can enhance ecological networks. Through a combination of field surveys and geographic information system (GIS) analysis, we assess the biodiversity value of urban parks, green roofs, and community gardens in cities worldwide. Our findings highlight the importance of strategic urban planning and green space management in fostering biodiversity in urban environments.
