Abstract
This study examines the effects of urban expansion on native plant species diversity and distribution in Southeast Asia, a region known for its rich biodiversity. Rapid urbanization is leading to habitat fragmentation and environmental changes, posing significant threats to native flora. Through field surveys and GIS analysis, we investigated the patterns of plant diversity in urban, suburban, and rural areas. The findings highlight a decline in native species richness in urban areas, with some species showing remarkable resilience. The study emphasizes the need for sustainable urban planning and conservation strategies to preserve native plant biodiversity.
