Abstract

This study examines the effects of climate change on the biodiversity of the European Alps, focusing on both flora and fauna. The investigation reveals significant shifts in species distribution and phenology due to rising temperatures and altered precipitation patterns. Alpine plants are migrating to higher altitudes, creating new ecological dynamics and competition among species. In parallel, many animal species are facing habitat loss and food scarcity, leading to a decline in population numbers. This research highlights the urgent need for conservation strategies to mitigate the impacts of climate change on alpine ecosystems, ensuring the preservation of biodiversity in these sensitive regions.
